I was recently reading about a Crestor lawsuit. Crestor is a drug that was marketed by AstraZeneca to treat high cholesterol and prevent cardiovascular disease, but has been scientifically linked to serious side effects. It is prescribed to those people who suffer from high LDL cholesterol, high total cholesterol, and triglycerides. However, it was later found that Crestor can result in serious injuries such as heart attacks and heart failure. Other side effects include cardiomyopathy (deterioration of the myocardium), rhabdomyolysis (breakdown of muscle fibers), and ventricular dysfunction. Due to this, a consumer advocacy group filed a petition with the FDA, suggesting that Crestor be removed from the market.
